About
As you consider commissioning portraits of your family it's only fair that you know some things about me. After all, I'll want to know more about you and your family before we begin. I've lived in Maryland my entire life, I have a wonderful wife and three great kids, and I'm a cancer survivor.
My dad was photographer and I've been involved in photography since I was a young man. My career began nearly 40 years ago, starting with weddings, to school pictures, to commercial assignments, all the while photographing people. So while I'm quite comfortable doing many things photographic, creating family portraits is my chosen specialty.
Portraiture is singularly the most satisfying area of photography I know of. I get to work with really nice people from all walks of life. While each family is unique, they share a common interest. They want to own and display portraits that are personal artwork of their loved ones. The value they place on their family portraits affords me the opportunity to do my very best work on every commission.
I'm active in the professional photography community including membership in: Professional Photographers of America, Maryland Professional Photographers Association, and Professional Photographic Society of Greater Washington. And, I continue to study with the top photographers in the country - striving to become the very best portrait artist I can be.
